Senior Receptionist (Assisting Reception Manager) | Sutton Coldfield | Full or Part Time Hours Available - must include 8.00 am - 6.30pm Thurs & Friday | Maternity Cover | £12.92 per Hour
Penns Personnel are looking to recruit an experienced senior receptionist ideally with some supervisory experience to work within a busy GP surgery based in Sutton Coldfield. This role is covering Maternity leave.
Proficient with EMIS and all aspects of General Practice Reception.
This post will ideally suit a senior receptionist or an experienced receptionist of 1+more years in General Practice.
Main duties of the job
Emails responses and actions for all emails received on practice and personal work emails.
Pathology Allocating unmatched - daily
111 Calls allocation
GP2GP following registrations, records to be filed
Adding all clinical staff appointments on EMIS at least 6 weeks in advance
Reception Staff Rota Weekly
Staff emergency absences and cover
Signing off all overtime sheets
PCSE stock ordering
Training newer staff
Telephone platform Surgery Connect Manage most effective monitoring and usage.
Other administrative duties as required and agreed with the Reception Manager and Practice Manager
Essential Experience
Minimum of 1+ years of experience as a receptionist in a NHS GP practice
Proven experience in a senior or supervisory role, demonstrating leadership and team management abilities.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with patients, colleagues, and external stakeholders.
Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask, prioritize workload, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Proficiency in using practice management software, electronic medical records (EMR), and other relevant computer systems.
Sound knowledge of medical terminology, procedures, and protocols related to general practice.
Attention to detail and accuracy in handling patient records and administrative tasks.
Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with integrity and discretion.
Demonstrated commitment to providing excellent customer service, with a patient-centred approach.
Empathy, patience, and the ability to handle difficult or emotional situations with professionalism.
Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to resolve patient complaints or issues effectively.
Hours and rate of Pay
Full time - 8.00 – 6.30pm 4 days a week (must include Thursday & Friday) remaining 2 days can be flexible to the right candidate. This would make 38 hours
Part time would need to be 8.00 – 6.30pm Thursday & Friday & the remaining hours negotiable.
Hourly Rate: £12.92 per hour.
The role is temp to permanent. For 1 year senior receptionist to cover maternity leave, then moving to permanent as an experienced receptionist.
